Curriculum
Aistear
Síolta and Aistear support the learning and development of all children from birth to six years across a range of early childhood settings and through the provision of an appropriate curriculum. A curriculum is more than the daily routine or a list of activities and experiences.
Loinnir
Loinnir is a Work Program for Naíonraí na Gaeltachta. This work program has been set out for the complete development of the child, to enrich his Irish language and to do so through fun. The child’s time in the Kindergarten should be laid out in a way that gives him the opportunity to develop his imagination, his intellect, his feelings and his physical development, in addition to his social, language and communication development. A program of work is needed to achieve these goals.
Borradh
Borradh’s aim is to develop language planning tools for Naíonraí na Gaeltachta Teachers. Due to changes in linguistic society and changes in raising a family, children with different levels of Irish are attending Naíonraí na Gaeltachta. Different support and encouragement is needed to help these children strengthen and develop their ability to speak Irish. http://cnng.demowsites.com/enriching-acquiring-language/ Enriching and acquiring Irish. All CNNG services operate through the medium of Irish. Irish is always spoken – with the children, with parents and among the workers. The Lonnir Work Program is used as well as Síolta and Aistear and the Borradh language planning scheme for the full development of the children, including language development. The work program of the services is set out to appropriately meet the language needs of the children in relation to the enrichment and acquisition of the Irish language and to foster and perpetuate the natural use of the Irish language among the children. There is a strong emphasis on the dialect of the area where the service is located.
